Obituary of Genevieve Mary Deery

December 1, 2017, marked the passing of Genevieve Mary (Dombleska) Deery. She joins her husband William Norman, her parents Jurgis and Antonina, her sisters Anne Zebuda, Josephine Jurcsak, Helen Baciewicz and her brother Anthony. She has greatly missed them all.

Gen graduated from Nott Terrace High School in 1944 and married in 1947. She worked for the Federal Government for many years and later in life for Rite Tool Company where she loved her work and those with whom she worked.

Gen was known for her self-acquired medical knowledge, her flower garden, her love of swimming and fishing and her joy in sharing a cup of coffee. She was a life-long member of Holy Cross Roman Catholic Church and loved singing in the choir. She was proud of her Lithuanian heritage and was a member of the Knights of Lithuania until her passing.

She leaves behind three daughters, Paulette Stoddard, Eileen Conway and Christine Deery, a son-in-law Simon Conway, her sister-in-law Clara Domblewski, five grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews who have always been very special to her. She also leaves behind lifelong neighbors and friends and the members of the Holder family who were also very dear to her.

A Requiem Mass will be held at 2:30pm on Monday, December 4, 2017 at St. John the Evangelist Church in Schenectady with an hour of viewing at the church prior. Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery in Rotterdam.

Memorial contributions may be made to Heritage Home for Women, 1519 Union Street Schenectady, NY  12309 or to a charity of one’s choice.
