Obituary of Doris Visker

Doris Visker, 83, formerly of Glenville, died peacefully on December 1, 2017 at Capstone Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Doris was one of six children to Tracy and Anna (Myers) Alexander, now predeceased.
Doris met her future husband, James A. Visker, in Albany. They were married on September 13, 1957.
Doris worked at the Department of Motor Vehicles in Albany.
The Viskers moved to Glenville in the summer of 1968. It was there the family lived for 49 years.
Doris was a nurse technician for the Glendale Home for 15 years.
She is fondly remembered as an active member of her church, participating in many activities following her retirement. Doris taught religious education at the Immaculate Conception campus. She was a member of the bereavement ministry, St. Vincent de Paul and Red Hat Societies.
She was predeceased by her sons, Jeffrey and Stephen; and her husband, James Visker Sr.
Doris is survived by her sons, James A. (Joan) Visker Jr., Mark (Barbara), Daniel (Virginia), Eric (Lauren) and Brian (Sherri) Visker; cherished grandchildren, Caitlin and Andrew Visker, Mark, Meghan, Michael, Matthew, Nadine, Susan, Patrick, Philipp, Michelle, Amy and Melissa, Robert, Dirk, Erica, Marie, Joseph, Michael and Deina; her brother, William Alexander; and sister, Patricia Hilpentouser. Also several nieces and nephews survive.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, December 6th at 10 a.m at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, 400 Saratoga Rd., Glenville. Relatives and friends are cordilly invited.
Calling hours will be held Tuesday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Rd., Scotia-Glenville.
Interment will be in the St. Joseph Shrine section at Most Holy Redeemer.
