Obituary of William R. Frear

William R. Frear passed away in his home on December 3, 2017. Bill was born in Schenectady on June 18, 1956 and raised in Baldwinsville, New York. He was the son of Richard and the late Barbara Frear. Bill moved to the Capital District in the 1970s and graduated with a degree from Hudson Valley Community College in Drafting. Bill worked in construction as a Supervisor and Inspector and was NICET Certified in addition to earning many industry certifications.

In his spare time Bill loved to be outdoors hunting, fishing and spending time on the soccer field with his kids as a coach or cheering from the sidelines.

Bill was predeceased by his mother, Barbara Frear. He is survived by his father, Richard Frear, his former wife, Veronica Frear, his children, Matthew Frear (Elizabeth), Craig Frear and Kathleen Tashjian (Sean) and grandchildren Samuel, Claire and Charles. Bill is also survived by his siblings, John Frear, Tim Frear, Becky Graham, Deborah Eckel and Rick Frear.

Family will receive visitors on December 7 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Road, Scotia, NY. A memorial service will be held at 11:00.

A special thank you to Anne Csejka, Bill’s dear aunt and Sophie Kelly, his kind cousin, for helping Bill during his last few months of struggle.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, 359 Ballston Ave, Saratoga Springs, NY 12866, in honor of Bill’s son, Craig Frear. Bill was hopeful to be reunited with his son one day.
