Obituary of Ruth Talmon
Ruth Talmon, 70, on December 3, 2017, died suddenly, after a long battle with mental illness. Born in Queens, NY, she was the daughter of the late George and Constance Schweinfurth. Growing up in Brooklyn, she attended public schools and was a Queens College graduate who majored in Spanish. She married Harry Talmon, her former husband, in 1970. The Talmon’s moved their family to Schenectady County where Ruth worked 20 years at the Schenectady County Medical Society. Ruth lived in Glenville for many years. She enjoyed traveling, cooking for family and friends, and going on shopping excursions with her daughter and sisters. She was a music lover, a volunteer for several years at the Yaddo Gardens in Saratoga Springs, and a member of the Schenectady JCC. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brother George Schweinfurth and her sister Tina Montalto. Ruth is survived by a son Scott Talmon (Michelle Maneri); a daughter, Noelle Talmon (Sid Werthan); her former husband, Harry Talmon; two sisters, Lillian (Thomas) Spina and Constance Maralja; and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial celebration of her life will take place at a time to be announced in January, at the Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Road, Scotia-Glenville. Her interment will be held at the South Valley Cemetery in Cherry Valley, NY, in the family plot.
