Obituary of Gerald F. Mossey

Gerald F. Mossey passed into everlasting life on December 29, 2017 at Ellis Hospital, with his loving family at his side. Jerry’s passing in part was due to complications related to Alzheimer’s disease.Born and raised in Cohoes, the son of the late Francis T. and Juliette A. (Tetreault) Mossey, he was also predeceased by his first wife, Mary T. Bailey. Jerry served his country in the Army. On February 3, 1989 he married, Linda Depeaux, at St. Paul the Apostle Church in Schenectady.Left behind to cherish his memory are his beloved wife, Linda; his children, Nicole, Susan (Kerry), Kevin (Kelly), Andy (Stephanie) Mossey; Kateri and Brenna Brown; his brothers, Paul (Betty) and David (Gail); five grandchildren, Shakeer and Kelsey and Alexandra, K.T. and Tia; as well as many nieces and nephews.Jerry worked as a service technician for nearly 40 years, retiring from Datacard Corporation. His children used to accompany him on his service calls.He had many interests, but he found great joy in trains, printing and computers. As a teenager, Jerry opened his own printing business, which led him to acquire numerous printing presses.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, January 3rd at 10 a.m. at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, 400 Saratoga Rd. with Rev. Jerry Gingras, officiating. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to call prior at the church from 9 to 10 a.m.Interment with military honors will be held at Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery in Niskayuna.The family requests flowers not be sent.
