Obituary of Carmela R. Rizzicone

Carmela R. Rizzicone of Glenville passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on January 26, 2018.  Born and raised in Troy, NY; she was the daughter of the late John and Lena (DelVecchio) Campana.

After graduating from Troy High School, she went to work as an Executive Secretary at General Electric, then Financial Computer Center, then retired in 2006 from Ballston Spa National Bank.  In 1958, she married her beloved husband, the late Dominick Rizzicone; together they raised their three children.  She was an avid New York Yankee Fan and never missed watching a game.  She played recreation volleyball for years. She loved to dance; cook and bake, and was the best at everything.  She was a long time member of the Immaculate Conception Church of Glenville. 

Predeceased by her husband, Dominick Rizzicone, Carmela is survived by her loving children Robin (Kevin) Springer of Glenville, John (Kathy) Rizzicone of Clifton Park, and Renee (Brian) Bott of Waterford; grandchildren, Kyle Springer, Danielle and Kristen Rizzicone, sister Anne Campese of Latham; and several nieces and nephews.  She is also survived by her companion Francis A. Tironi, Sr. of Halfmoon.

Calling hours will be at the Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Road on Monday, January 29th from 4PM-7PM.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10AM on Tuesday, January 30th at Immaculate Conception Church, 400 Saratoga Rd, followed by interment at St. Anthony’s Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Lung Association, 418 Broadway, 1st Floor, Albany, NY.
