Obituary of Rose M. Prioletti

Rose M. (Mongillo) Prioletti, 98, of Scotia-Glenville passed away peacefully on January 31, 2018. Born in Schenectady, NY, she was the daughter of the late Antonio and Filomena (DeNefrio) Mongillo.  A 1937 graduate of Scotia-Glenville High School; she began a career as a secretary at Haight Agency, and then went on to work as an insurance agent at Callahan Insurance, where she retired after 40 years of service. 

On May 19, 1946, she married her beloved husband, Donald Prioletti. Rose took on many roles in her community, such as the Treasurer of the Schenectady County Insurance Agents Association. Above all else, her most passionate role in life was as a mother and grandmother, she loved being with her family. In her spare time, she enjoyed baking, gardening and watching the Mets. She was a bowling enthusiast throughout her life. The Prioletti family wishes to thank Schenectady Hospice for their dedication and care of Rose. 

Predeceased by her loving husband, Donald; brother Michael Mongillo and sister Patricia Vivian King.

Survivors include her son Brian Prioletti and his wife Mary K. of Fairfax, Virgina; grandchildren, Anthony (Natalie) Prioletti, Thomas Prioletti and Kathryn Rose Prioletti; sister-in-law, Virginia Paolelli; brother-in-law, Neal King; as well as many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held at the Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Road, from 2 to 4 PM on Sunday, February 4th. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph’s Church, located in Scotia at 231 2nd St, on Monday, February 5th at 9:30 AM. Internment will follow Mass at St. Anthony’s Cemetery in Glenville. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 231 2nd St. Scotia, NY 12302.
