Obituary of Richard Norman

On April 8, 2018 Richard (Dick) Norman went home to be with his Lord, passing peacefully of natural causes with a full life of 88 years, having his family with him at his bedside at Florida Hospital, North Pinellas. Preceding him were his parents Milford and Dorothy Norman. He leaves behind his wife of 67 years, Dolores Norman as well as children Rick and Karen Norman, Bruce and Cheryl Norman, Keith and Kathy Norman,  grandchildren Jonathan and Sarah Norman, Heather Norman , Josh and Kristi Norman, Christopher and Jenn Norman, great grandchildren Blair Norman and Jacob Norman, immediate family Gene and Doris Garrison as well as a close community of friends at Bay Aire RV Campground who were family to he and his wife.

He accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior in his youth and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Scotia and Faith Baptist Church of Rexford. He was a graduate of the class of 1948 from Scotia High School, serving in the Air National Guard, and working at KAPL and then GE in Schenectady, NY for 39 years. He loved to camp, starting from his early days at the York Beach Bible Conference with his parents to his adult life where he frequently brought his family camping in York Beach Maine, throughout the Adirondacks, the northeast coast and Florida. He was known for his devotion to his family, his warm sense of humor and his faith in God.

There will be a funeral service held at 11:00 AM this Saturday (April 14) in the Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Rd. Glenville with Rev. Bob Port officiating. Relatives and friends are cordially invited and may also call on the family prior to the service from 10-11 AM.  Interment will immediately follow in Park Cemetery, Scotia, NY.
