Obituary of Barbara Burdick

Barbara Burdick, 80, of Schenectady, passed away at Ellis Hospital on April 24, 2018. Born in Oneonta, NY, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Hazel (Mosier) Butler.She was married in Oneonta to John Burdick. After several years living throughout NYS, she settled in Schenectady where she resided 37 years. Barb was employed for NYS Department of Labor, working until October 18, 2017, her retirement date. She had also worked a second job at Montgomery Ward until the store's closing.She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church in Scotia. Her beloved husband, John passed away in 1960. Barb was happiest when at her camp at Pops Lake, chucking wood onto the campfire and watching the hummingbirds and cardinals. She enjoyed the music of her favorite artist, Willie Nelson.She was also predeceased by her beloved grandson, John Riel.Survivors include her children: sons, Douglas (Linda) Burdick, Tracy (Donna) Butler; daughters, Doreen (Scott) Rubin and Kathleen (Buster) Blair. She leaves behind her sister, Harriet Countermine; a legacy of 19 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.The family wishes to acknowledge with deep appreciation… the care and concern by Dr. Theresa Viola.Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 28th at 12 noon at Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Rd., Scotia-Glenville with the Rev. Jay Richmond officiating.
