Obituary of Ivan Skomp
Ivan “Randy” Skomp, 50, passed away unexpectedly on May 4, 2018 after a brief illness surrounded by his loving parents at St. Lukes Healthcare in Utica, NY. Born in Charleston South Carolina he was the son of Ivan L. Skomp and the late Patricia Cull Skomp. Randy was a 1985 graduate of Broadalbin-Perth High School. He proudly defended his country in the army and the army national guard throughout his 20-year career. Randy worked for many years as a butcher at the Galway Market in Galway, NY. Randy enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing; he was an avid fisherman. He was also passionate about carpentry. Above all, he loved spending time with his family.
In addition to his father Ivan L. Skomp, Randy is survived by his step mother Dorothy Skomp, his sister Alison Skomp (Mike Ryder), step brother David (Meghan) Hickok, and step sister, Ryane Heckathorn (David). Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Randy was predeceased by his mother Patricia Skomp, sister Donna Elaine Skomp and brother Matthew Skomp.
All are welcome to attend on Thursday, May 10, 2018, 10am at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Road, Schuylerville, where military honors will be bestowed.
