Obituary of Michael John Tousignant

Michael John Tousignant, 60, of Glenville, died peacefully at his home on May 7, 2018. Born and raised in Plattsburgh, NY, he was the son of Elizabeth LaBombard Tousignant and John A. Tousignant. Michael was a 1976 graduate of Mount Assumption School of Plattsburgh.
 He attended several SUNY schools, receiving his bachelor’s degree in business administration and dabbling in culinary arts. Michael was united in marriage to Susan M. Swartz on November 15, 1991 following a courtship of 14 years and they had recently celebrated their 26^th anniversary.

He was part owner of Northeast Sales Associates where he had worked and helped to build the company for the last several years.  A man with deep spiritual beliefs, he knew his success in life was best shared by helping others.  Michael loved talking to and meeting new people while traveling for his business.  He mentored several young people, helping them in business, giving guidance, and what can best be described as direct advise.  In his youth, Michael was an avid cyclist.  He enjoyed many long-distance rides and races.  An outdoorsman, he boated frequently on Lake Champlain and spent many happy times with friends and family, lending his cooking skills so all could enjoy. 

He was predeceased also by his sister Kathleen Tousignant.
Survivors include his mother, Elizabeth Tousignant, his father, John Tousignant, his loving wife and best friend, Susan M. Swartz and his best pup ever, Queenie, his sister, Linda Tousignant and her partner Kim Garrant; brothers and sisters-in-laws, Leon David (Jean) Swartz, James Charles (Karen) Swartz and Linda Swartz Taglialatela. Mike also leaves behind his aunts and uncles, Andrew (Vivian) Tousignant, Raymond (Vicky) Tousignant, Janine Paquin and John (Joan) Storer, as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. 
 

Relatives and friends are invited to call Friday May 11, 2018 from 4-7 PM at the Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Rd. Glenville.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday May 12, 2018 at 9 AM at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, 400 Saratoga Road, Glenville.  Entombment will be at Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery in Niskayuna, NY.
