Obituary of Paul J. Galluzzi
Paul Joseph Galluzzi, 92 of Charlton passed away at home on May 14, 2018 with his family at his side. Born in Beverly, MA, he was the son of the late Antoinette Bovio and Joseph Galluzzi. As a child Paul was a drummer boy in the Gabriele D'Annunzio Lodge (Sons of Italy in America). He graduated Beverly High School and the Mechanical School of Beverly. Paul then went to work for the Sylvania Company of Lynn, MA, as a draftsman. November 13, 1949, he married the love of his life Lauraine D. Albert of Salem. Paul and Lauraine made a striking couple with their excellent dancing skills on many dance floors. In 1950 Paul joined General Electric in Lynn, MA then transferred to Schenectady. He worked in the Small AC Motor and Generator department in 1956. He went on to become a Senior Designer of Gas Turbine receiving an Honorary Member Certificate for contributions in the Accenting Department of Values. Paul had an uncanny skillful knack for winning many GE football pools. He was a member of the GE Quarter Century Club. He retired in 1986. The Galluzzi family have many fond memories growing up on Crooked Street. Sadly, Paul was the last of the original Crooked Street gang. Paul was a volunteer for the Charlton Fire Department and a faithful communicant of Immaculate Conception Church in Glenville. He was a die hard Red Sox fan. One of his happiest days came when the Sox won their first World Series in 2004! His one regret in life was not being able to serve his country in WWII due to a childhood hearing loss. Paul never gave up his love of the ocean, traveling to Maine, Massachusetts, Florida and Bermuda. Most importantly, he was a kind and loving father to Paula and Lisa and adored his grandchildren. Paul was predeceased by his wife Lauraine (2014) and his sister Laura Schaill (1952). He leaves behind his daughters Paula (Mark) Supley of Glenville and Lisa (John) Baity of Bedford, NH. His grandchildren Kyle Supley (partner Alan Quinn) of Manhattan, NY and Brianne (Dave) Gallagher of Medford, MA.,a brother Nicholas Galluzzi of Beverly, MA. and constant cat companions Bella and Sophia . The family wants to thank his kind neighbors, especially Joe and Chris Noonan. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday June 1, 2018 at 11am at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, 400 Saratoga Road Glenville, with Father Jerry Gingras, officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Paul’s name may be made to the Animal Protective Foundation, 53 Maple Ave. Scotia, NY 12302. Online memories may be shared at Glenvillefuneralhome.com
