Obituary of Elora Mudgette
ELORA MUDGETTE, 93, formerly of Scotia and Zephyr Hills, FL, passed away May 19th at her home in Rotterdam Junction, surrounded by her loving family.Born in Granville, NY, she was the daughter of the late John and Ruth Parks Dooley. She graduated from Granville High School in 1943, and moved to Schenectady to work at General Electric during the war. She later worked as a waitress at The Van Dyke and Hogan Townhouse Restaurants, and for 20 years drove a school bus for the Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake School District, retiring in the mid-eighties.In 1946 she married, John B. Mudgette, also of Granville, They lived in Mont Pleasant and Glenville for most of their lives. Elora was a communicant of The Immaculate Conception Church and later St. Joseph's Church in Scotia.She enjoyed all kinds of music and dancing, including square dancing, as well as reading and tending to her gardens. She was a member of the Scotia Glenville and Clifton Park Senior Centers, where she enjoyed playing cards weekly. Mostly she enjoyed being with and taking care of her family,She leaves behind a daughter, granddaughters and great-granddaughters who all wanted to grow up to be like her.After her husband John died in 1976, Elora spent her winters in Zephyr Hills, FL. She later married, Frank Bianchine, who died in 2004.She was also predeceased by her son, Thomas J Mudgette; and brothers John, Kenneth and Edwin Dooley.Survivors include her daughter, Rosalie R. Fahey (Robert A. Moore); daughter-in-law, Hyon Sun Mudgette; son-in-law, James F. Fahey, sister-in-law, Evelyn Dooley; grandchildren, Kim E. (Patrick) Winne, Lauren Fahey Stack and Mea-Hwa Lee. She is also survived by great-grandchildren, Kayleigh Winne, Kassandra Winne, Michael Fahey, Liam Fahey Stack and Ashling Fahey Stack; and several nieces and nephews.The family extends a special thank you to Elora's niece, Florence Jean Cornetta, friends Sharon Manning of Schenectady and Sandy Baxter of Zephyr Hills for the special care and attention they gave to Elora.Funeral services will be Wednesday (May 23) at 11 a.m. at the Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Rd., with Deacon John Crane officiating.
