Obituary of Theresa M. Jachym
Theresa M. Jachym, 93, passed away peacefully on May 20, 2018.
Born in Malone, NY, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Neddie DeLarme Patnode.
At the age of 2, her family moved to Indian Orchards, MA where Theresa graduated from Cathedral High School in Springfield.
She was united in marriage to Thaddeus Jachym on April 21, 1945. The couple moved to Charlton, where they were members of the Immaculate Conception Church. When her children were old enough she used her business degree to become secretary for the guidance office at BH-BL Central Schools. Theresa will be remembered for her love for her family, joy for dance, unlimited generosity and chicken and dumpling dinners. She had an affinity for crossword puzzles, the game show Jeopardy, The Wizard of Oz and savoring the delight of chocolates of all type.
She was predeceased by her husband, Ted in 2005, as well as her six siblings.
Survivors include three children, Patricia (Philip) Holder, Stephen (Cheryl) Jachym, and Nora (Jurgis) Brakas; five cherished grandchildren: Kyle Fischer, Lora (Grayson) DeWitt, Matthew (Leah) Jachym, Karen (Aaron) Gross and Mark Jachym; great grandchildren: Finn and Emerson, Braeden and Audrey and Julia and Annabel. She leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Thursday (May 24) at 11:30 AM at the Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Rd. Scotia-Glenville. Relatives and friends may call on the family prior from 10 AM to the time of the service. A procession will follow to the Solomon National Cemetery, Schuylerville, NY.
