Obituary of Patricia M. Bonaparte

Patricia M. Bonaparte, 81, of Alplaus, passed away in the tender presence of her family on May 27, 2018.

Born in Springfield, MA on October 27, 1936, she was the loving daughter of the late John and Mary Alice English.

She married Clement P. O’Clair and began raising  a family in the Guilderland, NY area.  For twenty years she worked for the NYS Department of Drug Abuse in Albany. Patricia was actively involved in raising each of her grandchildren which gave her great happiness. When her own children were older she remarried to Claude Bonaparte who predeceased her in 1993.

An intelligent woman, Pat had a keen interest in Science, particulary Archeology. She loved to decorate cakes and was a talented seamstress. She loved animals, especially dogs, actively supporting her local ASPCA. Her life surrounded around family first and foremost and she will be remembered traveling with her family, even as it became increasingly difficult for her.  

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her beloved husband Claude, brother, Allen English, sister Janice English, grandson and great-grandson. 

Surviving and left to cherish her memory are her children: sons, Peter (Bari) O’Clair, James (Jane) O’Clair and Thomas O’Clair; her daughters, Barbara Collins (late Craig), Kathleen O’Clair MacKellar Wolf, Margaret (Craig) Rockwell and Susan O’Clair Hall; 22 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. Pat also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

The Bonaparte-O’Clair family would like to thank the Community Hospice Inn for the care and comfort shown to them during Pat’s stay.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, June 2nd at 4 PM in the Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Rd. Glenville with Jack E. Arnold officiating. Relatives and friends are cordially invited and may call prior to the service from 3-4 PM. A reception will immediately follow at Eagle Crest Golf Club and Restaurant, Route 146 A in Clifton Park, NY.
