Obituary of Phyllis E. Heumann

Phyllis E. Heumann, 95, passed away peacefully on May 28, 2018 at the Glendale Home in Glenville. Born in Omaha, Nebraska, she was the daughter of the late Presley and Florence Woodhall Bristow. Phyllis was a graduate of Benson High School in Omaha. She married her beloved late husband Frederick Heumann on January 9, 1947 and the couple moved to the Schenectady area later that year, when Frederick took a job with General Electric. Phyllis was a homemaker and enjoyed baking cookies, especially her chocolate macaroons. The couple retired to Park Rapids, Minnesota as well as Ocala, Florida. Phyllis enjoyed traveling and fishing with her husband. Her greatest hobby was sewing. She was an avid seamstress and made clothes for herself and her family. Phyllis also enjoyed quilting, knitting and various crafts such as ceramics and stained glass. Above all she enjoyed time visiting with her family and friends.

She was predeceased by her husband Frederick Heumann and her brother Robert Bristow.

Phyllis is survived by her children Frederick (Jane) Heumann, JR. and Lore Heumann as well as her two grandchildren Matthew and Lindsey Heumann. She also is survived by her sister-in-law’s Marilyn Bristow and Mary Northrop and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the Glendale Home, particularly the staff at Union Station for the excellent care and compassion given to Phyllis during her stay there.
