Obituary of Carole Ann Stevens
Carole Ann Stevens, 76, of Scotia, NY passed away on June 16, 2018 in Glenville.
Carole was born in Artesia, NM to the late Charles and Myrline (McCool) Triplett on August 18, 1941. After her father’s passing at a young age, Carole’s mother married Lieutenant Colonel Samuel E White.
Carole graduated from Brooklyn High School in 1958 and went on to earn a degree in Special Education from SUNY New Paltz. She taught Special Education in the Schenectady City School District for 34 years and played an instrumental role in the establishment of the Yates Arts and Education Magnet School. Carole was a member of the Glenville Senior Citizens Center and enjoyed traveling, a love that was developed during her youth as an army brat when her family was stationed in Utah, Indiana, New York and Germany. Carole’s passions after retirement included attending the Chautauqua Institute and spending time with her grandchildren.
Carole is survived by her daughter, Patricia Embree, son-in-law Patrick Jansen and grandsons Ethan and Adam Jansen. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Carole’s supportive friends and the caring and compassionate staff at both Home Instead and the Glendale Nursing Home.
A visitation will be held at the Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Rd., on Wednesday, June 20th from 9 to 10 AM, followed by a funeral service at 10. Burial will be private at the family’s convenience at St. Anthony’s Cemetery in Glenville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
