Obituary of John William Corrigan
John William Corrigan (Dr. of Theology), 91, passed away peacefully at his home July 13, 2018.
Born in Wilkes-Barre, Pa on April 28, 1927, he was raised in NYC, where he had lived in all five boroughs.
John served in the Navy during WWII, stationed on vessels as a marine engineer and radar operator.
He was a graduate and proud alumni of United States Merchant Marine Academy at Kings Point class of '51. He was employed with G.E as a professional engineer. John worked 38 years in power systems for G.E. and KAPL.
While in Korea he met Haeja Lee and was married the following year in Seoul, on November 17, 1979.
John received a master in divinity degree from Gordon Conwell Seminary School and used his teaching skills at his church as well as several missions teaching Bible study.
He was an accomplished pilot with a instructor's license. He enjoyed golf, jazz and classical music and reading novels. John also had an affinity for crossword puzzles.
He lived a full and meaningful life and will be fondly remembered by his loving family and cherished friends.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 17th at 10 AM at Faith Baptist Church (Corner of Glenridge Rd. and Bradt Rd) in Rexford.
Calling hours at the church will be Monday (July 16) from 6 pm to 8 pm. Committal services with military honors will occur at the Gerald Solomon National Cemetery, 200 Duell Rd. in Schuylerville on Tuesday at 12:30 pm. A reception back at the church at 2:30 pm.
