Obituary of Edith Bernice (Stanton) Hildenbrandt
Edith Bernice (Stanton) Hildenbrandt, of the Town of Day in Saratoga County died on July 12, 2018 surrounded by her family. She was 87 years old.
Edie is survived by her children, John (Debbie) Hildenbrandt and Cindy (Dave) Vogel; her grandchild Amanda (Christopher) Kruger; and her great-grandchild Mariah Kruger. She is preceded in death by her first husband, John Hildenbrandt; her second husband, Floyd Phaneuf; her parents, Percy and Ethel Stanton; her brothers Gilbert Stanton and Eugene Stanton; and her sisters Agnes Palmer, Francis Mulyca, and Doris Holliday.
Edie was born on September 14, 1930 in Schenectady, NY. She graduated from Albany High School and worked briefly at GE during World War II. She lived for many years with her husband John in Rotterdam Junction, NY while raising her family. After John’s death she moved to Colonie, NY before moving with her second husband Floyd to the Town of Day near Sacandaga Lake in Saratoga County, NY.
Edie loved her family, her cats, her wild birds, her many friends, and her neighbors at Sacandaga Lake. She also loved dancing, country music, and playing cards.
Edie passed away peacefully at Saratoga Hospital after a short illness. She will be missed by everyone who knew her.
Visitation is scheduled at Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Rd, Glenville, NY on Saturday, July 21 starting at 9:30 am followed by a funeral service at 11:30 am. Burial will be after the service at Memory Gardens, 983 Watervliet-Shaker Rd, Albany, NY.
