Obituary of Phyllis L. Brandt

Burnt Hills – Phyllis L. Brandt passed away at Glendale Nursing Home on February 10, 2023 at 91 years of age.

Born in Schenectady on August 6, 1931, she graduated from Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake High School and Green Mountain Jr. College.  

​Phyllis married Walter Brandt in 1951 andthey established their home at 78 Lake Hill Road. She worked for Burnt Hills Ballston Lake Schools in various capacities and was the first woman on the Town of Ballston Board.  Phyllis was well known for posting soccer scores on the picture window following each of Walter’s games.  She loved playing bridge and gardening.    Phyllis also faithfully served her community for over 25 years driving ambulance for Ballston Lake Emergency Squad.  Additionally, she served over 65 years as a Burnt Hills Fire Department Auxiliary Member.   She also was a long time altar guild member atCalvary Episcopal Church in Burnt Hills.

​Phyllis was predeceased by her husband, Walter; daughter, Lynn Mehollin; and her sister June Carlton. Survivors include her children, Ted Brandt (Mary), Susan Frankowski, and JoAnn Zelker. Phyllis is also survived by several   grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

​Funeral services will be held on May 20th at 11a.m. at the Calvary Episcopal Church, 85 Lake Hill Rd., Burnt Hills, NY 12027. A reception will follow the services in the parish hall. 

​In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Calvary Episcopal Church, 85 Lake Hill Rd., Burnt Hills, NY 12027 or Capital Region Veterans Memorial, via Trustco Bank, 286 Saratoga Road, Glenville, NY 12302.
