Obituary of Doris E. Cromie

Doris E. Cromie, 77, of East Glenville passed away peacefully on May 1, 2023. Born on July 25, 1945 in Schenectady to her loving parents, Earl W. And Dorothy Irene (Murtlow) Brown.

Doris was raised in East Glenville where she was a student of Burnt Hills Ballston Lake High School and graduated from Linton High School in 1963. She met the love of her life, James Cromie, at the tender age of 17. They had their first date square dancing, and they married in 1965. They raised their three daughters in East Glenville.

As a dedicated mother, Doris always put her family first. She loved hosting dinners and holidays at her home. Doris’ favorite activities were shopping, fishing, and spoiling her grandchildren, her pride and joy! She stayed active in a women's recreational volleyball league in her younger years. She will be remembered for her family’s summer picnics and pool parties at Lake Doris. She was proud of canning and freezing vegetables from the garden. She always looked forward to riding the lawn mower. Doris will always be remembered for her warmth, kindness, and appreciation for the simple beauties in life; she will be dearly missed.
