Sally Cote

Obituary of Sally K. Cote

Sally K. Cote of Niskayuna, NY passed away peacefully on May 15, 2023, at 83 years old. Sally was born in Pittsfield, MA on October 19, 1939; she was the daughter of the late Carroll and Gladys (Greiger) Hickey.

Sally graduated from Pittsfield High School and Russell Sage College. Upon graduation from college, Sally went to work for General Electric and IBM before assuming the important full-time role of being a Mom.

In July of 1963, Sally married the love of her life, Jerry. For over 60 years, they made countless memories that were created together.

Sally was a wonderful Mom to her late son, Brian, and enjoyed helping him grow, watching him play sports, and hosting all his friends over to the house for any occasion.

She enjoyed bowling and playing bridge with her many friends. She was an avid Red Sox and New England Patriots fan; she watched or listened to every game.

However, her dedicated passion in life was collecting “Teddy Bears” from all over the world. Her collection totaled more than 700 bears, which were all properly named and displayed with love.

Sally is survived by her husband, Gerald “Jerry” Cote, and her two grandsons, Andrew (Sydney) and Christopher Cote of Atlanta, GA. She is predeceased by her parents and her son, Brian Cote.

A Celebration of Sally’s life will be held at the convenience of the family at a later time.

A memorial contribution in Sally’s name to the Animal Protective Foundation, 53 Maple Ave. Scotia, NY 12302, is something she would have deeply appreciated.
