Our friendship was long and true. We carried on through our busy lives, and too much time would run its course before we would finally have that “lunch date”
Yet, when the plan went through, and our date arrived, we just fell into place as comfortably as when we worked and talked with each other every day. You were always easy to talk to, sharing my life’s secrets with you, knowing your loyalty was true. Your advice in matters was always honest and heart felt. You were never judgmental, always positive and uplifting.
I was just thinking about you last week, I was driving home from Utica with my new truck. Thought for a moment how I’d have liked to stop and show it off. Reminding myself, I hadn’t seen your new home yet as well. But, it was too late to stop. Now, I wish I had just phoned, asked, and done it anyway!
Oh, the memories from Jockey Street. All the crafting we did. You taught me to sew. You taught me how to use appliqués and to use fabric paint, everyone received those nifty sweatshirt turned cardigans for Christmas that year. Lol. We cross stitched and embroidered our way through the night. We laughed, talked and sometimes cried through the wonderful years of friendship. You are a magnificent woman, I love you and our memories will always remain in a special place with-in my heart.
Paul, Alaina words cannot express my deep sympathy for your loss. I am so sorry, her life was taken from you far too soon. I can’t even begin to imagine your pain and sorrow. May you find comfort in your memories, in each other, and in the knowing that all though Darcy has left this earth, her spirit lives on. Her spirit will always be there with you.
Wishing you peace and comfort,
Chere Lennox

Dear Paul and Alaina,
There are no words for the loss of your wife, Paul, and your Mom, Alaina. She was beautiful inside and out, and a true friend. I am so very sorry for your loss and I pray with time, your hearts will mend, and you will remember her with all of your wonderful memories. I have known Darcy since I started at Wilton Developmental Center back in 1988. She was my co worker and fellow LPN. We became friends fast and did share a lot of fun times together. I will miss our talks. I moved away in 2008 to Florida , and Darcy, Chere , and I got together for dinner before I left .We still kepted in touch. We made plans several times recently to get together, her to come see me, and I to come and see her and Paul's new house, and our lives got busy and it just didn't happen , That hurts my heart so now. I could pick up the phone any time, 6 months could go by , and it was like we talked yesterday. I will miss those talks so much. I admired Darcy for finishing her RN. That was my goal as well. i just ran into several road blocks. She was a friend for life and I will miss her so much. God Bless you both. If you need to talk or need anything at all please reach out. I love you Darcy and I will miss you very much. All my love my friend and new angel. Fly high ! This is not good bye. Until we meet again. Your loving friend Lynn XO <3

I am so very sorry for your loss. Darcy was my supervisor at Glendale and I was so happy to continue to work for her as my DIRECTOR OF NURSES WHEN SHE WAS PROMOTED. Darcy was the most beautiful soul that I have ever met and always treated me with kindness and respect, she believed in me when no one else would. We had planned many times to meet for lunch but our schedules would get in the way.. I WILL MISS HER TERRIBLY as I know her family will.Darcy, I will always think of you. Love you. Carolyn

Over the years I worked with Darcy, I watched her go from a part time LPN to an RN to a Supervisor to Assistant Director of Nursing to Director of Nursing. She was wonderful to work with and so kind and understanding. A good listener. She was cheerful even in difficult times.
Darcy you will be so missed but I'm so glad I had the privilege of working with you and for you as one of your nurses. Your kindness set a good example for us all. I will never forget you.
