Pete was a one of a kind. Unique, loyal, kind, thoughtful, and religious. He was a giver, a mentor, a friend, a family man,a GREAT companion to Kathy. He loved his children, grand children, his friends and more. He was there when you need him, he was stubborn, a connoisseur of pies (preferably fruit) and a Fox Horn devotee (with ice).
Pete was always late regardless of the occasion, I wish that he was late for God's call.
I was once told that he was fortunate to have me as a friend bur the truth is I was fortunate that he called me his friend.
RIP Pete, enjoy vespers.

Peter Pink
When I was asked to recall a special event or time I had with Pete, I had to pause and think.
Then I realized that really every time I was with him was a special time.
He always had his exuberant hello Richie ! with his big smile that always made me feel special.
Every Tuesday night no matter how he was feeling or what was going on, it was what was going on with me that mattered and what he was interested in.
Do not get me wrong, there were many, many great times we all had – our Myrtle Beach golf trips, drinking wine around the hot tub with Pete trying to chill my nice red wines, attacking a snake with 5 iron, our trips to Maine with he, Paul and I going out after everyone else was calling it a night, Lake Champlain at Terry’s hanging out in the hot tub and watching over the lake – with a little red wine of course and of course “E Town” cooking steaks on the charcoal fire after golf and happy hour.
His time at the Y of course gave us many brain storming sessions and good times figuring out how to balance budgets, get more membership or planning the next event usually followed by a drink or 2 to further the discussion
Our sacred Tuesday nights will now never be the same, there will be an unfillable void without “Pedro” there for all of us – Rest in peace my wonderful friend !

Pete was such an influential part of my life...many, many years ago he saw something in me while trying to put together the swim team at Charvale Pool. Through his many years of coaching and encouragement both at Charvale and the Schenectady Y, I was able to experience years of competitive swimming and personal growth that shaped so much of who I became as an adult. Swimming is still a part of my life today...at the Y of course. My condolences to Pete’s sisters who I remember so well from days at Charvale.
