Obituary of Peter Edwin Pink
Peter Edwin Pink, born in Schenectady, NY, March 5, 1942, to Edwin Hoyt Pink and Xenia Colyer Pink, passed from this life at his residence in Glenville on August 2, 2018, in the company of loved ones.
Pete grew up on Sacandaga Road with his three sisters Patricia (Schlegel), Penny (Linn), and Paula (Martin). He was predeceased by his parents and sister Patty. Formerly married to Carole Stalpinski Pink, Pete is survived by his two daughters Suzanne Carpenter of Bluffton, SC, and Tamara Pink of Schenectady and his four grandchildren Quinn, Sage and Kade Carpenter and Aysia Pink. Pete is survived by several nieces and nephews and their families both locally and in Utah, Virginia, and Florida. Pete was loved and cared for by his friend and companion Cathy Guay.
The most import things in life to Pete were his family, friends, and community. He served all of them primarily through his church, Centre Glenville United Methodist, and the YMCA.
A 1961 graduate of Scotia-Glenville High School and 1965 graduate of Springfield College, Pete dedicated himself to his YMCA career and volunteer work throughout his life. All who knew him were enriched.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, August 14, 2018, at 11 AM at Centre Glenville United Methodist Church, 171 Bolt Rd, Scotia, NY 12302. A reception will follow at Mallozzi’s Restaurant, 1930 Curry Rd, Rotterdam, NY 12303 from 2 PM to 6 PM. In lieu of flowers contributions honoring Pete Pink may be made to Centre Glenville United Methodist Church, Capital District YMCA, Springfield College, or a charity of one’s choice.
