To the Smith family, my heartfelt condolences for your loss of your loved one. Please find comfort in the knowledge that God promises to put an end to all the things that have plagued mankind for centuries including pain and death (Revelation 21:3,4). May these promises from God's word, the Bible give you comfort now and real hope for the future. My deepest sympathy.

Growing up on Cornelia Avenue was a delight because of the Smith’s.. I quickly became friends with Jeannie and was at their house all the time! Mr Smith was the most friendliest Dad ever! I am so sad to hear of his passing and just reading his obituary brings back so many memories of my childhood! I am sorry for the whole Smith families loss! Love Lisa

I will surely miss my dear friend Al. We spent many hours over coffee at the club working or taking a walk in the woods looking for the big one. God Speed my friend.

Dearest cousin Teddi, Sondi, Joey, Jean and families,
You have our deepest sympathy in the untimely passing of husband and father, Al..How tragic.... I have many warm memories of Al. His humor, sense of adventure, Christmas letters, and hard boiled egg sandwiches! When you had your apartment in the city,BC (before children), Al took us the corner soda fountain and got Andi and I our first malteds! You had a declawed monster of a cat that could bat a hole through cardboard. You also had a big dog that at some point gifted you with 10 or so puppies if my memory serves me accurately...It was so wonderful when you surprised us with a visit one winter about 5 years ago...we ate at a little bar and restaurant by our home that Al really liked and walked in the snow along a beautiful street lined with American elms... Teddi, I think you slipped and landed on your knee, hope you didn't have repercussions from that... I was so glad we could make it to your surprise 70th birthday and anniversary! It was great seeing everyone! precious memories are our gift to keep us going past the grief... so very sorry that Al was taken from you. It sounds like you all went through quite the ordeal as his condition worsened....thinking of you always.

My cousin Al was bigger than life. I remember Tommy and I getting harassed by some older kids in a nearby wooded area. When we got back to Tommy's house Al was sitting out front with a couple of his friends. When he heard what happened he flew off the stoop and went to "address" the situation. That was Al, never fleeing from a righteous fight, always shielding and protecting his family. I remember how he was always studying and learning new things and how he loved to share about them. I went on several hunting trips with Al and I was amazed at the wealth of knowledge Al had on the forest, animals, hunting and most of all-how to drive 60 miles to get a cheeseburger! Al was hysterically funny at times; he always brightened up any room he entered. His humor drew people in and gave them a safe place to be in for a while. Al was indeed bigger than life-the empty space he left behind is huge. My fervent prayers are that Our Gracious Lord will be with Teddi and all of Al's family, bringing comfort and peace as only He can, daily being with them in this awful season of grief.

I just want to send my deep condolences to the Smith family and all Al's extended family and friends. While we didn't really know Allie, we are very sad to hear of his unexpected passing... The Smith family is very dear to me, as you all were to my parents, and again, we extend our sincere sympathy to you, Teddi and your family. With love, Bernadette (Chiavaro) and Eric Jaeger.

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Al. Al was my older cousin and I always looked up to him. Al was always so kind and I loved his humor. I have many happy memories of him as we grew up in the Bronx together. I’ll never forget his beautiful wedding to Teddi and what a lovely couple they made. I am proud that Al was a good husband and father and grandpa. This has left a hole in my heart and I pray for Teddi and the family that God will comfort them. I will miss you Al and know you are cracking jokes in heaven with Bill, Chuck and Bob and watching over us. RIP

AL is already missed. His smile towards me as I walked towards him at my nieces wedding, made me happy and proud of entire family. We laughed and exchanged Military stories and Family stories. I love ya big guy and I know you’re in Heaven with your Mom and Dad and a host of others. To Teddi and Family my heart is with you all. God Bless.

Thank you for the nice things you said about me before your passing. I greatly regret not getting to know you better, as you were (and always will be) one of the most important and influential people in your granddaughters life. Life is such a temporary and fragile thing, something I try and remind myself every day. I won't forget you, and what you have done for your granddaughter, family, friends, and community. Rest in peace Albert Smith. May god watch over you now.
