Obituary of Barbara Buyce

Barbara Abrams Buyce, 52 of Ballston Lake passed away quietly after a long illness on May 15, 2013 with her loving husband at her side. Born in Bayshore Hospital she grew up in Massapequa, later to reside at Oak Beach. She was a graduate of Berner High School and received her degree in Advertising Art from Farmingdale College. After graduation she worked as a flight attendant and later in the Commercial Art field. Barbara loved to sing and play her guitar, entertaining friends, family and anyone who could hear. While skiing at Gore Mountain she met her soul mate, Gerry Buyce and they married in 1990 on the top of the mountain where they met. Barbara was an avid skier with a love of the outdoors, whether hiking, gardening, or just being at the beach or on the ocean. Her Love for these were only exceeded by her love of animals and children. Barbara was a gifted artist who lent her creative spirit to everything she touched. From parade floats and costumes to summer games and quiet songs, Barbara made every moment memorable. Barbara took her greatest joy in making others smile. Her spirit & energy was a light that brighten many lives, especially children. Barbara is survived by her loving husband Gerry, her father Don Abrams of Schroon Lake, 2 sisters, Donna (Dennis) Myers and Deborah (Philip) Bernath and 2 brothers Douglas(Kathy) Abrams and Bruce (Diane) Abrams. She is also survived my many nieces & nephews whom she adored. She is joined in heaven by her late mother Evelyn Abrams and her black lab Shawna and adopted Corgi mix Chester. Visiting hours will be Friday May 17th from 5 - 8 and a small service on Saturday the 18th at 11am the Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Road, Glenville, NY.
