I loved just listening to the stories that he and Alice would tell at family gatherings. He was such an interesting, intelligent, articulate man with a way of speaking about his adventures that just drew you in. I may not have known them well, but they always left a deep impression on my heart and I felt very connected to them. I just asked Pam about how he was doing about 3 days prior to finding out about his passing. My love goes out to his family and friends.

I met Jules and Alice at a monthly bridge game. When I found out he was a fellow Badger and we both worked in the Naval Reactors program, we had some things in common. At each of the monthly games, the topics of discussion were always "Where have you traveled?" and "Where are you going next?" His stories allowed those of us at the games to enjoy some vicarious travel. I miss him.

The world lost a kind man and a brilliant mind when it lost Julius Hokenson. I loved getting to know him and Aunt Alice better while attending school in upstate New York. Jules always promised interesting and thoughtful discussions. We had many great conversations around the dinner table, and I wish I had spent more time with him. I'll miss him. My thoughts and prayers to Alice and Gail in this difficult time.

Jules was an important player in the Naval Reactors program. He was always there to help with a well thought out solution. He will be missed by all those who worked with him. May he rest in peace.
