Obituary of Julius F. Hokenson

Julius F. Hokenson, 89, of Glenville passed peacefully on June 29, 2020. Born in Manitowoc, Wisconsin to the late Julius G. and Lydia (Naidl) Hokenson. After graduating with his bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin, Julius started his career with General Electric Co. 

He worked as a Chemical Engineer, and traveled within the company. He met his wife of 62 years, the former, Alice Cuda, while stationed in Washington State. The couple were married on November 9, 1957. In 1960, Julius took a new position at Knolls Atomic Power Lab in Niskayuna, NY. The couple moved to Glenville, where they raised their family. 

Throughout their life together, Julius and Alice traveled to over 86 countries, they adventured to Antartica, Alaskan region on land and sea, and a memorable African safari. In Julius’ spare time he would find a project to work on, he was very good at fixing things! He was a member of the Church of the Immaculate Conception in Glenville. 

Predeceased by his son, Kenneth Hokenson and son-in-law David Johnson. Julius is survived by his wife, Alice Hokenson and daughter, Gail Johnson. 

Services will be held at the family’s convenience.
