Obituary of Andrew "Andy" M. Leonard Sr.

Andrew “Andy” M. Leonard, Sr., 59, passed away suddenly on December 11, 2020. Born in Troy, NY he was the son of the late John J. Leonard, Jr. and Maryann (Mayo) Leonard . Andrew was a 1979 graduate of Ramapo Regional High School in Franklin Lakes, NJ. Andy worked and owned his own landscaping business in NJ until relocating to NY. Once he came to the capital region, Andy worked for various transportation companies, most recently YRC/New Penn in Glenmont, NY. Andrew was married to the love of his life and best friend, Tamara Leonard.   Andy was an avid sports fan, cheering for the New York Yankees, New York Giants and the New York Rangers. Andrew enjoyed his home, tending to his yard making sure it always looked pristine; and he was also known for his uncanny abilities in the culinary field, as well as his bartending skills. Above all Andrew cherished the time he was able to spend with his family and friends.

In addition to his wife, Tamara Leonard, Andrew is survived by his sons Andrew Leonard, Jr. (Tonya Faiola) and Christopher Leonard (Erika Nowacki). His stepsons, Kristofer Stanley and Kodey Stanley and his grandson Karter Stanley. His brothers John J. Leonard, III (Ellen), Timothy Leonard (Janna) and Mark Leonard (Lori). Also surviving are his god children Kyle Leonard and Ellen Pinzon, along with numerous nieces and nephews and a great niece and nephew.

Calling hours for Andrew will be held on Saturday, December 19, 2020 from 12-3pm at the Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Road Glenville. A funeral service will follow at 3pm at the funeral home.

The family would like to thank their angel on earth for his valiant efforts in Andrew’s time of need; and the staff at Glens Falls ER for the compassion shown to them during this difficult time.
