Obituary of Walter W. Bullis

Walter W. Bullis, 76, passed peacefully at home on January 3, 2021. Born in Racine, Wisconsin to late parents, Walter and Yolanda (Beimer) Bullis. 

He graduated from Niskayuna High School and attended Ithaca College where he studied music education with a major in trombone.  He taught brass, woodwind, percussion and piano for private students and in school settings, establishing band programs in Cohoes Catholic Schools, New Life Academy and Schenectady Christian School (now McKeel Academy). 

Walter enjoyed his experiences marching with the Fiesta Band in many parades. He also became a NYS certified driving instructor and taught private driving lessons for Easy Method Driving School. 

After his marriage to Gail Campbell in September, 1996, he partnered with his wife and opened Gateway Driving Center in 1997. His gift was teaching and he felt blessed to be able to help his students become good drivers.

His main passion was his Lord Jesus and developing a closer walk with Him and now that is exactly what he is doing!
His grandchildren were his pride and joy and he loved spending time with family.  He loved the trombone and, as members of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, he and his wife became very active in music ministry.

Other interests included long rides searching for new restaurants and flea markets, cryptograms, solitaire, football (especially the NY Giants), and his bad puns (dad jokes).

To continue his memory is his loving wife, Gail; children, John Bullis, Campbell Osborne, Victor Osborne, Teri Thomas, Victoria Osborne; cherished niece, Michelle Harrell ; grandchildren, Jazmin Thomas, Iain Bullis, Jesika Thomas, Erica Harrell, Jaqui Thomas, and Alexis Harrell. 

Funeral service will be held at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 547 Saratoga Rd, Glenville, on Thursday, January 7th at 12 PM. A calling period will be held prior at Church from 11 to 12. Social distancing regulations will be enforced.
