Obituary of Alexander F. Nusco

Alexander F. Nusco, 89, passed away peacefully on April 27, 2021 at the Gateway House of Peace in Ballston Spa. Born in Ulster, NY he was the son of the late Fidele “Fred” and Jennie (Kish) Nusco.  Alex was a 1950 graduate of Linton High School and proudly went on to defend his country in the United States Army from 1951 – 1954.  Alexander married his beloved late wife Ruth (Cole) Nusco on August 1, 1964 at St. Anthony’s Church in Schenectady. He worked as a photographer for ALCO for 13 years and went on to work for New York State Department of Commerce as a photographer for 25 years, retiring in 1992. Alex was a life member of the VFW Post 4660 and a longtime communicant of the Church of the Immaculate Conception in Glenville. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and bowling. Above all he loved his family and cherished the time he was able to spend with them. Alex will be remembered for his dedication to his family, friends and his country.

Alex is survived by his beloved children Nancy Yakush (Rob) and Douglas Tittus (Theresa). He is also survived by his brother Charles Canton (Rita) along with several nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his wife Ruth Nusco in 2012.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday May 3, 2021 at 10am at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, 400 Saratoga Road Glenville. Burial with military honors will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park, Colonie. There will be no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Alexander’s name may be made to the Gateway House of Peace, 479 Rowland Street Ballston Spa, NY 12020 for the wonderful care Alex received in his final hours.
