I have been going to Lakeside Farms for over 40 years and I am only 45. My Father's parents and Dick's parents used to play Pinochle together. My Dad and Dick grew up together. As a very young child my twin and I would go with our parents to Lakeside and Lorraine would give my brother and I those large rainbow lollipops. I and my partner go to Lakeside every year for lunch, flowers, produce, pumpkins and of course apple cider doughnuts. It will not be the same without seeing Dick working the cider dispenser and chatting up customers. An Institution has passed away. Thoughts and prayers to his wonderful family.

We were so honored to perform at Lakeside Farms on 2 different occasions. But it was not just a performance. Dick called me up and after several conversations he invited us to stay with him and Lorraine in their home at Lakeside. What an incredible time we had!!! They made us feel just like family. The highlight of our evening is when Dick "escorted" us to the show in his beautiful "BMW". We had a great show and the next day we were treated for some great breakfast at Lakeside Farms. We fell in love with these 2 very special people, as we know so many others have! Dick and Lorraine stayed in touch and even came to one of our shows up in Canada. We have met folks all over the world, but there have never been 2 people who touched us as much as these 2. Dick called us 4-6 times a year just to chat over the past several years. We sure wish we could be there with Lorraine and the family to say a final goodbye to our dear friend. How we will miss him!! Our prayers are with the entire family. We know that the entire community will miss him as much as we will. Rest in Peace our dear buddy, and we'll see you again soon!
God Bless,
David and Terri Lisa Church

One summer my cousin, Robin, and I were staying with Grandma and Grandpa Bob for a week during the summer. The guest room at that time was at the top of the stairs in the big house. It was late one night and we were doing what little girls about 11 years old do, giggling and laughing when we should have been sleeping. Dick's room was across the hall and he came to our door to say"if you girls don't quiet down right now, I'm getting you up at 3am and taking you to market with me." We had one more short giggle and went to sleep. Robin and I talked about that for years. I treasure that memory even more now since they are all now in heaven. He will be greatly missed.

I will never forget my job working at Lakeside Farms...my first day there I had to depend on the registar to cash customers out. Dick came to me at the end of my shift and asked me to stay for a few minutes. In those few minutes he took the time and taught me how to count change back from making a sale at the registar. From this day forward I love to have that knowledge to know how to count my change back. I'm proud to say I learned it from Dick Pearce and I will carry this knowledge on to my children!! He will be missed so much.
