When I was growing up, the other kids made fun of my tendency to use “big words.” But I had nothing on Gunnar. When I think fondly of him and our time working together at NYSERDA, the first thing that comes to mind is his vast vocabulary. It’s making me smile right now.

Gunnar was a kind and gentle soul, a good man, a good husband, a good father, and a good friend. I worked with Gunner for a brief time at NYSERDA, but we became good friends and our families spent wonderful times together, in now what seems a brief fleeting moment that produced long wonderful memories. He will be missed and the world is a little darker without his light. My deepest condolences to Linda and his loving family.

Gunnar became my favorite Senior officer while working with him during my decade at NYSERDA. Whether we talked about energy, cars, motorcycles, GE, politics, public perceptions, or life in general, he had deep, broad knowledge and a wonderful, friendly demeanor. Indeed, he helped persuade me to buy a Porsche following his long-time faith and passion for them.
