Art and I have many memories of "Big Al." Growing up, the guys shared many memories with Al, Chuck, Jimmy, and Jon. They were joyful times filled with sports conversations. Since Al was a Yankee fan and Art was a Red Sox fan those chats were filled with energy!
In later years, we enjoyed visits, phone calls, and occasional dinners. Al was a kind and caring man. He was so thoughtful, and curious. Talking to him was so easy. He was incredibly polite and well-spoken. Art and I were grateful to have known Big Al. He was one of a kind and will be greatly missed.
Love you big guy, rest easy.

Al gave twenty plus years of devotion to the Indian Baseball family.
He was a great contributor to the success of the team.
Al did all the news publications which helped many of the boys get the credit they deserved so colleges would take notice. He also handled all the score keeping, stats, and game analysis. And not to forget the cooler of gator aid for all the home games!
We would talk before, during and after games about game strategy and player placement. We didn’t always agree……But that’s what made us better!
It won’t be the same without you…..

I grew up with "Big Al". While I lived in Schenectady by the time I met him he was driving so he was able to transport our friend Arthur and I to play mostly basketball all over the area. Alan had a heart of gold and the urge to pass on his knowledge of sports. One year l even assisted him in coaching CYO. The love of the game and the kids just oozed out of him. He was one of a kind and will be missed. Condolences to the family
