Chuck was my first, and Best Friend when I was sent to Glenmont Job Corps. How many hours we spent running around in that old re-purposed monastery, we ran through the Woods, hung out like twins after classes & work , chased girls and climbed the walls. Best of all, after “lights out “ we would get up on the roof and live like kings. There was this tall water tower with chain link fences and warning signs everywhere, we had a special affinity to figure out how to get inside there & get to the, “Stairway to Heaven”. If there was one thing Chuck was especially good at, it was turning up the music as loud as it would go, and He did too !!! Funny how decades later, it really seems closer than yesterday.
