Obituary of Russell Hubert

Russell J. Hubert, 57, of St. Anthony Lane, passed away suddenly on October 18, 2013. Russell is the loving and devoted father of Joseph Hubert and his wife Melanie, beloved brother of Rodney, Robert, Richard and Jonathan (Tammy) Hubert and Beverly (Gerald) Mess, and his very close cousin Betty Santabarbara. Russell is survived by his stepmother Lillian Hubert and longtime companion and the mother of his son, Joanne Kingsbury. Russell was predeceased by his parents and his brothers Thomas and Gary Hubert. Russell was born in Schenectady on April 16, 1956, the son of Anthony and Dorothy Leaderach Hubert. Russell was a 1974 graduate of Niskayuna High School. He settled in Glenville in 1984 in anticipation of the birth of his son the following year. From the age of 21, Russell worked as a Meat Cutter for the Golub Corporation. He enjoyed his position at the Eastern Parkway Price Chopper until his untimely passing. Russell was a loyal and dedicated employee who developed many acquaintances and friends with customers and co-workers at his store. A loyal family man, Russell was selfless in his sacrifice for the betterment of his family. He devoted his time in helping others with his special kindness shown to all who knew him. He was active with his church, St. Joseph's in Schenectady and helped with many social activities. Russell devoted many hours to maintaining his lawn and garden. He enjoyed many first-prize Neighborhood Lawn awards for his beautiful Disney World landscaping. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, October 22nd at 10 AM at St. Joseph's Church, 600 State Street in Schenectady with Rev. Michael Hogan officiating. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend and may also call at the Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Rd. Glenville Monday from 5 PM to 8 PM. Private interment will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made in Russell J. Hubert's name to St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church,600 State Street Schenectady, NY 12305.
