Please accept our heartfelt sympathies on the passing of Paul. Rev. Mills performed our wedding in 1974, almost 50 years ago. He also baptized our first son, three years later. It was great to see him throughout the years at Camden Methodist and Sylvan Beach church.

My mom and dad Jack & Pat Halstead were great friends of Paul & Maxene. Paul was our pastor in Grandby Center and I remember as a child them visiting us a lot. Funny memory but when I had my tonsils out on January 1st 1970, they came to see me in the hospital and brought me a really cool toy to occupy me while recovering.
My dad has gone to be with the Lord but I called my mom as soon as I saw this very sad news of our friend passing.
Our deepest condolences to you Maxene and to your entire family.
Thank you for your service Paul and for all the years of friendship. May you rest in peace.

We were saddened to learn that Pastor Paul had passed. I have many memories of church services in Camden, Sylvan Beach, and Big Flats. He was one of my grandfather Deforest's best friends back in the day and he officiated at my wedding back in 1988. Paul was our minister while he lived in Camden. He became a dear friend as well as Maxene when they resided in Hawthorne , Leesburg Fl. Paul was a selfless, kind and generous friend who always was there to help and encourage .. We enjoyed many fun times together and will treasure those memories. Paul and Maxene created a wonderful family and were a shining example to us all.
Paul was well loved by many and will be truly missed. Our hearts go out to all of the family.

Many fond thougths of Paul as we grew in our childhood days on adjacent farms. We were first cousins and had many plesant experiences in the much more simple days during the great depression where pleasures were very resource limited. We worked hard as children on the farms and enjoyed our few times of relaxation with simple family games at home. Many supportive tasks were perfomed together during World War II as children farm work to supply food and collect metal scrap material for use in the war effort. Church was one of our main stay activities, providing a great basis for living a good life. It was great to observe Paul participating in a lifetime of ministry with a beautiful wife that was the daughter of our minister when we were children.
