Obituary of Judith Dietz

Judith Ann Rose Dietz, born in 1940 at Brady Maternity, surrendered to a long illness onNovember 23, 2013 at the Joan Nicole Prince Home in Glenville. Judith was predeceased by parents John Allen Dietz (1994) and Virginia Ryan Dietz (1984) ; and brother James Robert Dietz (2001). Judy is survived by brother John (Teresa),sister Martha; nieces Rachel Bruce, Katherine (Peter) Tholl and Jonnie Dietz; nephews Alex (Elizabeth) and John (Michelle) Bruce.Great nieces Anna, Justina and Sunshine and her great nephew Ozymandias. Uncle James Ryan; Aunt Margaret Waters of N.J. and 23 dearly loved first cousins. Judy was a member of St. Joseph's Church in Scotia and devoted to a music ministry for many years. Pastor Fr. Peter Russo and many friends eased her passing both at home and at her bedside. A graduate of St. Rose College in 1962, Judy went to Oklahoma to teach Native American children. She also taught Montessori method in California and N.J., then spent many years in home decorating and renovation. Most recently a Medical Transcriptionist at Schenectady Neurological Assoc., Judy enjoyed being part of an excellent, kind and generous team. Judy was a master gardener who never lost her passion for 'the woods'. Her life, home and friends reflected this love. Relatives and friends may call St. Joseph's Church prior to the service from 9:30 to 10:00am . Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph's Church in Scotia on Tuesday November 26 at 10:00am followed by interment at Holy Redeemer Cemetery. The family will be ever thankful for the care and kindness of the staff and volunteers at the Joan Nicole Prince Home, 22 Glenview Drive, Scotia and any remembrance in Judy's name to JNPH would be welcome.
