I cherish the memories I have of my dear Aunt Marie as well as my Uncle Joe. She was beautiful inside and out, always smiling. Her physical beauty rivaled any so-called movie star. In fact, she was a "knockout", as they say! But, aside from all that, my most cherished memory of my Aunt and Uncle is that they were the "pioneers" of the Christian faith in our family. They demonstrated their deep love of God to everyone. Even though they had several mouths of their own to feed, having 5 children, they went out into the highways and byways to feed the poor with sandwiches and share the love of Jesus! They both shared many encouraging words with me. I know for sure they had something to do with many other family members coming to faith in their Savior, Jesus. I am one of them and thank God for their prayers! I will miss you my sweet Aunt! Give my Dad and Uncle Joe a big hug for me! Godspeed! Love, Marjorie

Dancing certainly has changed over the years, and Grandma knew that. Whenever there was music playing she would dance, waving her hands flapper-style, with an actress' grin on her face, saying "I used to be a jitterbug." We would listen to big band and swing music on most days when I came home from school;it helped me focus on homework and put her in a reminiscent mood. She loved singers such as Judy Garland, Peggy Lee, Frank Sinatra, and musicians like the Dorsey Brothers. The day she saw me playing a Roaring Twenties flapper in the ninth grade school play was the day that she reflected on her adolescent memories. I then became more interested in what life must have been like for grandma in the 30s and 40s. In fact, I took a liking to the fashion, dance style, movies, and music of the times. Ah, yes, my taste is vintage I will confess. That is all thanks to my wonderful grandma, who showed me how to appreciate things that "they don't really do nowadays." She will always be the inspiration for my well roundedness and ability to deviate from the mainstream media.

My mom was the most encouraging person I have ever met. She would always find and point out the good in all of us,never never making us feel bad about our faults. There was nothing impossible for us to do in her opinion and she made sure that we all knew that growing up.She was always happy praising our Lord Jesus.Always in church she had her hands up worshiping with thankfulness. She would read a few psalms every night before bed and always told us make sure we read our bible and pray. She would also mention how she would hold my dad's hand with a thankful prayer to the Lord every night before bed and insructed us to never go to bed angry at anyone. My mom was the most loving person in our household growing up. I will miss her dearly.Though I cry as I type this,I rejoice that she is reunited with my dad in heaven with our Lord Jesus Christ.

Growing up, I remember my Aunt Marie being a praying child of God. When she wasn't talking about what Jesus did for each of us, she was boosting about the loves of her life - her children! She was the proudest mother, always carrying pictures of her children wherever she went. Her family meant everything to her. I was especially moved by the example my Aunt Marie & Uncle Joe set when they would make feeding those less fortunate on Thanksgiving Day and passing out "tracks" on the street corners of New York a priority - going home to enjoy their own meal after having served others first. The Bible says, "The first shall be last and the last shall be first." Having come from humble beginnings, with right priorities, no doubt they will be taking their place in glory at the Master's table. My Aunt Marie always had a smile for everyone. In her later years, she would say, "What's not to love, they treat me like a Queen" referring to her children and grandchildren who helped care for her. The greatest testimony of her life is the way she left this life - smiling, winking at her loved ones, showering them with kisses and singing Christmas Carols - joyful, peaceful, with her eyes on her Savior all they way. No sorrow here - a Saint of God has gone home. Hallelujah! I love you Aunt Marie and thanks for the memories.

Marie is my husband's youngest sibling and the last of them to pass. We got married in the same year. I married Jerry in May, 1947. Marie & Joe got married in September, 1947. I wanted Marie to be my Maid of Honor, but because we were each planning our weddings at the same time, she thought it best not to take on that role in my wedding party. We shared great memories of vacations and good times together. Marie was the "baby" in the Palma family with 4 brothers looking out for her while they were growing up. Life was not easy, but Marie & Joe's faith in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior led them to never give up in their prayers on behalf of the rest of the family members who had not yet entered a personal, alive relationship with Jesus. I'm glad they did! I know I'll see Jerry, Marie and Joe again real soon - what a reunion that will be. Hope you're there too.
