Obituary of Patricia Kuster

Patricia J. Kuster, 69, of Edmel Rd. passed away peacefully November 7, 2012 following a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Mineola, NY, she was the daughter of the late Sigmund and Jean Stryjewski. Following her marriage to Thomas Kuster on July 20, 1963, the couple lived on Long Island and moved to Glenville, NY in 1968. Pat was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother to her family who loved her dearly. She also was an active member of her community, including many responsibilities and duties at her church such as the Altar Rosary Society at Immaculate Conception Church, Glenville, and volunteering for over 30 years at Proctor's Theatre in Schenectady. She treasured the time spent with her family, especially looking forward to yearly retreats at Trout Lake in the Adirondacks. Pat's hobbies were cross stitching and quilting, making beautiful quilts for family and friends. She returned to college after raising her children to earn her B.A. from the College of St. Rose, while working full time for the NYS DEC Bureau of Wildlife Management where she was employed for 27 years. She was predeceased by her brother, Reverend John Stryjewski. Survivors include her beloved husband, Thomas Kuster; sons Thomas P. Kuster and his wife Cheryl of Clinton, NY, John J. Kuster and his wife, Carol Murray of Pelham, NY and Stephen L. Kuster and his wife Helen Huang of NYC. Pat leaves her cherished grandchildren; Anne Marie, Sam and Evan Kuster, Meredith, Lauren, Charlie and Ian Kuster, and William and Matthew Kuster. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, November 12, at 9:00 AM at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, 400 Saratoga Rd. with Rev. Jerome Gingras officiating. Relatives and friends are cordially invited and may also call Sunday afternoon from 2-5 PM at the Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Rd. Glenville, NY.
