Obituary of Robert Wayand

Robert F. Wayand, 78 of North East, PA passed away May 9, 2014 at Saint Mary's Home of Erie. Born in Schenectady on June 7, 1935, he was the loving son of the late William H. and Pearl Thorpe Wayand. Bob was a 1953 Scotia High School graduate; 1956 G.E. Apprentice Course graduate and a Duke University graduate in 1960. He has lived in Scotia-Glenville NY, Grove City and Erie, PA and Charlottesville, VA. His beloved wife of 43 years, Judith Anne Henry Wayand, passed away in November 2002. Bob worked at General Electric for 39 years, rising to Senior VP of Manufacturing, before his retirement 1995. His pastimes were hunting, fishing and gardening. Survivors include four sons, William Wayand and wife Lorraine of Erie, PA, Daniel Wayand and wife Kelly of Cary, NC, James Wayand of San Francisoco, CA and Joseph Wayand and wife Lisa of Charlottesville, VA.; two brothers, Donald Wayand (Lynn) of Scotia-Glenville and twin brother Richard Wayand (Gail) of Galway, NY. Bob is survived also by eleven grandchildren, one great grandchild and his dear friend, Pat McNaughton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, May 13 at 10 AM at Saint Joseph's Church, 236 First St. Scotia NY. A calling period will precede the Mass at church from 9 AM to 10 AM. Interment Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna.
