Becca, Kjersti, and Anne. Friendships created through the wonder of basset hounds and social media. My husband was so glad to meet Charlie last summer on his way to his new home - he had heard so much about him. Spending time with him and Sophie will remain a special memory.

As chaplain of the Submarine Veterans of North Carolina, I am extending condolences particularly to Charlie's two nieces who live in Apex. Charlie is a submariner (once a submariner, always a submariner) and I assure his family that his oar is at rest. Chaplan Bill (Cary, NC)

Charlie was not only my dear personal friend, who spent many a Thanksgiving at my home, but a friend to homeless dogs everywhere. Often he would drive hundred of miles to get to a shelter, spend the night in his car if it was closed, just to "make sure the doggie was not euthanized before I get there." Untiring in his efforts to make a REAL DIFFERENCE, Charlie was a very special person. Charlie has heart failure, but that heart was strong and UNFAILING in his love for those whose lives he saved. Truly, Charlie, you are loved and missed.

I had the pleasure of Charlie's friendship for many years. Words cannot express the laughter he brought to many lives. Not a day goes by without thoughts of him. Rest in peace my dear friend.

Thank you Charlie for saving the lives of many basset hounds for BROOD. You made the difference to many hounds. I am glad we got to reconnect and have lunch last August and sad that we will be unable to do that again. I am sure that you are reunited with your hounds that are at the Rainbow Bridge. I can hear the howling now.
