I met Robert and Helen at Hannaford, where i am employed. About 5 years ago, Robert and Helen were in shopping, Robert came back to the meat dept. I had the pleasure of asking him if he needed assistance, Robert replied that he was just waiting for his wife while she shopped, he and i started a conversation about where we were both from, i told Robert that i was originally from Michigan, he then told me about their travels to many different states. From that moment on, while Robert was still able to drive, he and Helen would make a point to come and visit me back at the meat dept. at Hannaford. He had given me one of his homemade reindeer one year at Christmas, i have and will always treasure that gift. My fiancee(Mike Salato) and I have visited Robert and Helen at their home on several occasions. They enjoyed reminicsing about our little town of Scotia, we would talk for hours. He will be deeply missed.
