I worked with Walter at CDTA from Dec 2004- July 2004. We always talked about our family. my youngest son is named Walter. I no he was very proud of his kids. he will be missed.

I met Walt while riding a bus to work at CDTA in Albany in the early 1980's. We went fishing together too around this time. Staring in 1985 I had the pleasure of working with Walt in Schenectady for 18 years. He was an outstanding driver and employee of CDTA. He was a fantastic Bus Roadeo contestant too winning the most championships in our history. During the 80's and 90's we took many trips together to the NYS Bus Roadeo where he and I, his family members and my wife Gail had great times together. We will always remember how great he competed at these events and the experiences we shared with so many others in the Transit Industry. At this time of sorrow Gail and I want to extend our greatest sympathy to all of the Horton family. Remember all the good times you have had with Walt and the miracle that he been for us who have been lucy enough to have spent time with him. You are all in our prayers and thoughts.

In your hour of sorrow we can only hope to add a lighthearted memorable experience that involved Walt, Catelyn, and us. This was one of the many trips that Walter took to participate in the International Bus Roadeos. We flew to Dallas, and as I recall Walter was not too fond of flying. Catelyn accompanied him on this trip and we all had a wonderful time. Walter is still CDTA's all-time first place winner of our local roadeo. Darlene and I will miss him and he will be remembered in our prayers. May your own memories with him be shared forever.
