Obituary of Walter Horton
Walter 'Wally' Horton Schenectady Walter Henry Horton Wally, 66, passed away at his home May 14, 2015 with his loving family by his side. Born in Troy, NY, he was the son of the late John and Jennie Ruchlicki Horton. Wally grew up in Clifton Park and was active in sports, including baseball, where he was an avid Mets and Yankees fan. He had enjoyed hunting and fishing in his younger years. Wally was a bus driver for CDTA for over 39 years, retiring in 2011. He married the former Laureen Monroe. Wally was a lifetime member of the Eagles Club and held membership with the Loyal Order of the Moose. He enjoyed socializing with his fraternal brothers and always looked forward to spending time with his family. Suvivors include his wife, Laurie Horton; son, Johnathon W. Horton of NYC; daughters, Catelyn (Dennis) Glenn of Clifton Park and Heather Wilson of Schenectady. Wally also leaves behind his two brothers, Ted and Ed Horton; and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend a celebration of life service, Saturday, May 16th at 1 p.m. in the Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Rd., Glenville. Calling hours will precede the funeral service on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Interment will follow at Maple Shade Cemetery in Scotia. Online condolences may be left at glenvillefuneralhome.com.
