To the family of Jack MacDonald, I have very fond memories of your father. In my younger years, he was my baseball coach who assisted my father, Lew Putnam, who was the Manager, of the Beukendaal Lodge Baseball Team in the Beukendaal Baseball League for several years. He was a great teacher of the game and use to pitch batting practice for us. I was very close with his son Michael and his first wife Joan when they resided on Riverside Avenue in Scotia. When life made an unexpected change for everyone, I lost contact with both Mr. MacDonald and Mike. I extend my sincere condolences to you, his family, and want you to know he was a good man, a loved individual who will always have a special part of my life that I will continue to cherish. On a final note, when we were playing baseball as little leaguers, we were the only team in Buekandaal Baseball League history to go undefeated, 16-0, and my dad, Coach MacDonald, and Coach Roland Alexander will all take that to heaven with them, as I will too!! I still have the team picture of that year. This brings a tear to my eyes. "Well done good and faithful servant" Richard (Dickie) Putnam, # 7, Catcher
