John J. MacDonald, 85, died July 1, 2015. Born in Forty Fort, PA on November 15, 1929, he was the son of Alexander and Nellie Reagan MacDonald. He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Dolores MacDonald; five children, Deborah (Angelo) Haralampopulous, Roselie Donadio, Tracey (Ronald) Lewis, Wendy Gaffney and John Michael. They were blessed with 15 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, several nieces and one nephew. Mac was a Scotia Firefighter/EMT, not missing a day's work in 25 years. He was co-owner of Captain Cove Restaurant and former co-owner of Barbizon Modeling School. He was a man of many hats. He worked as a computer programmer for IBM and for Grand Union Market Tri-State for 15 years. His hobbies included woodworking, riding motorcycles and rollerblading. He always looked forward to meeting his hunting buddies at the camp. Mac was a standout wrestler in high school and was a state wrestling champion. He served his country in the U.S. Navy and then the reserves for 6 years. He touched many lives in the village of Scotia and will be missed by many. If love could have saved him, he would have lived forever.
