Obituary of Edward G Iovinelli Jr.

Edward G. Iovinelli Jr, 69, of Glenville passed away unexpectedly on January 28th, 2016. Ed was born in Schenectady on June 26, 1946. He was the son of the late Edward Iovinelli Sr. and Norma Iovinelli. Ed graduated from Scotia-Glenville H.S. After High School, he received his bachelors degree from Union College. Ed continued his education by achieving a law degree from Albany Law School. He married Linda Terns (Iovinelli) on December 7, 1968. Mr. Iovinelli's entire legal career was with the New York State Department of Social Services in a variety of capacities including Administrative Law Judge and Associate Attorney . Ed was a competitive fencer for a majority of his life. Ed was also an avid fan of his alma mater's hockey team, Union College. Ed enjoyed traveling, particularly on river cruises. He was a wine connoisseur, who took pleasure in reading mystery novels. He had a love for animals, especially dogs and cats whom became great companions throughout his life. If friends and family needed a answer to just about any question, they would turn to Ed. Our greatest appreciation for the care provided by the doctors, nurses and hospital staff at Ellis I.C.U. Besides his parents, Ed was predeceased by his beloved son, Jason Iovinelli, in 1999; and his brother Mark Iovinelli. Survivors include his wife Linda J. Iovinelli, his son Jeffrey (Jennifer) Iovinelli, daughter Stacie Iovinelli (Joel Bianchi); grand-children J. Broderic, Greer and Kinsey Bianchi; and Domenica and Gianni Iovinelli. Edward also leaves behind two brothers, Paul (Linda) Iovinelli and Bruce Iovinelli, both reside in Florida, and brother in law Bill (Ellie) Terns. The family will hold visitation Sunday, January 31, 2016 from 1PM—3PM at Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Road. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Edward G.
