Obituary of Vivian Finch

Vivian B. Finch ScotiaFormer healthcare department head, Vivian Bernice Craft Finch, 85, died Monday at Ellis Hospital, Schenectady, after a long illness. Her husband, John J. Finch, predeceased her in March 15, 1999. A lifelong Scotia resident, Mrs. Finch was a 1945 graduate of Scotia High School where Vivian later came to be an active member of the PTA and supporter of its many sports teams. Vivian was a communicant of St. George's Episcopal Church in Schenectady, was a past president of St. George's Churchwomen and served on it's altar guild. Vivian was a woman of integrity and strength; she expected much of herself and others. Vivian found great pleasure in traditions and time spent with family and close friends. Survivors include her children, Jill F. Verra of Plantation, FL, John C. Finch of Providence, RI, Jennifer J. Finch of Pawtucket, RI, Jeffery M. Finch of Pottersville, NY, James M. Finch of Scotia, NY, Robert Costello of Providence, RI, Joseph A. Verra of Plantation, FL, and Shirley Finch; a sister, Geraldine Tatlock; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. All services will be private at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to St. George's Memorial Garden. Arrangements are by the Glenville Funeral Home.
